Student Engagement Dashboard
This collection of dashboards provides a comprehensive overview of student engagement with career services at San José State University. The detailed insights provided by these dashboards help the Career Center make informed decisions, enhance services, and gain a deeper understanding of student involvement and needs. The visualizations and metrics facilitate an in-depth analysis of the student and alumni profiles, demographics, and activities, allowing for a more tailored and effective approach to supporting career readiness support and resources.
What is included?
- Career Fairs: Metrics on job fair attendance
- App Usage: Career Center digital apps usage, measured as follows:
- Handshake: User has logged in.
- Focus2: User has logged in and completed at least one assessment.
- VMock: User has explored resume resources and uploaded at least one resume.
- Big Interview: User has logged in. (Note: Profiles and demographic data are not available for this app.)
- SJSU²: User has joined the community, completed the signup process, and logged in.
- Student Engagement: Engagement activities and events hosted by the Career Center
- Career Counseling: Career counseling appointments and drop-in counseling
All dashboards can be filtered down by college, major, class level, gender, and ethnicity.
How do I navigate the dashboard?
- Tabs: Use the tabs at the top of the page to navigate between the dashboards. A dropdown menu will appear, allowing you to select specific pages within each dashboard.
- Filters: At the top of each page, filters are available to refine the data and graphs. Multiple filters can be applied simultaneously. Note: You will need to set the filters again when you navigate to a new page as they only apply to the current page. To reset the filters, use the “Reset Filters” button from the filter menu or the “Reset” button at the top right of the Looker Studio page.
- Charts and Metrics: Charts and metrics labeled “Unique,” display the unique count of the specified metric based on criteria such as gender, ethnicity, or college. Charts and metrics without the “Unique” label show the total count of the metric. For example, a Total Student Attendees chart shows the overall number of students at each event; if the same student attended multiple fairs, each instance is counted.
