Career Champions Program

The Career Champions Program is an initiative driven by the SJSU Career Center and Colleges to provide faculty and staff with career development resources and best practices to support student career readiness. We know that career conversations occur across campus and we want to ensure all campus members have access to helpful tools and training related to career development. We invite any faculty/staff member interested in learning more about Career Center programs, tools, and resources to join the Career Champions program.


Program Requirements:

  • Participate in Thought Leaders Meetings (once per semester): Collaborative discussions to provide the Career Center with feedback on student/faculty needs to support career success (specific resources, data, programs to consider) and co-design career readiness assignments, activities, assessment.
  • Attend Career Resource Training Series (once per semester): Topics include Labor Market Trends, Career Outcomes Data, Career Apps (Gen AI)
  • Department/College Outreach Support: Share updates on Career Center initiatives and resources as relevant with colleagues and department meetings.
  • Career Readiness in the Classroom: Incorporate Career Center resources, events, Canvas modules, or workshops into your courses (as appropriate)

  • Certificate of Recognition: For service supporting student career readiness and success
