
The Career Champions Program is a partnership between the SJSU Career Center and academic colleges that equips faculty and staff with the knowledge, resources, and connections to support students’ career development.
Career conversations happen every day—in classrooms, advising appointments, offices, and campus programs. The Career Champions Program helps you confidently connect students with Career Center services, incorporate career readiness into your work, and contribute to a campus culture where career development is everyone’s responsibility.

Program Expectations
Career Champions participate in several activities throughout the academic year designed to strengthen career readiness across campus.
Participate in Career Coffee Chats
Attend collaborative discussions each semester to share feedback, discuss student career needs, and explore ideas for strengthening career education across campus.
Attend Career Resource Trainings
Learn about Career Center programs, labor market trends, career outcomes, emerging technologies such as GenAI, and other resources that can benefit your students.
Share Career Center Updates
Help connect colleagues within your department or college to Career Center events, services, and resources.
Promote Career Readiness
Incorporate Career Center workshops, Canvas Career Modules, events, or other resources into your courses or student engagement efforts whenever appropriate.

Who Should Apply?
The program welcomes faculty and advising staff from all colleges and departments who are interested in supporting student career development.
How to Apply
- Complete the Career Champions application.
- The Career Center will review your submission.
- You’ll receive additional information about upcoming meetings, trainings, and program activities.
