Employer Connection Events

Promote your organization, highlight career opportunities, and boost your on-campus presence by hosting Employer Connection Events.

Event Types

During this interactive chat, students are able to “Ask a Recruiter” their most burning job and internship search questions. The recruiter will also have an opportunity to promote their opportunities to students. This interactive event is typically scheduled Tuesday – Thursday from 12-1pm virtually or in person.

Fees: Virtual $100 or In Person $200

Meet SJSU students in an informal setting to discuss the industry, organization, and promote current or anticipated opportunities. This event is intended for students to gain inside information about a field and learn about your organization and opportunities. This 90-minute event is scheduled Tuesday – Thursday from 12:30-2pm, virtually or in person.

Fees: Virtual $150 or $300 In Person

Share a past or current real world problem or create a challenge for students to solve. This event is a great way for SJSU students to get a hands-on understanding of your organization while practicing and demonstrating the transferable skills you seek. This 90-minute event is scheduled Tuesday – Thursday from 12:30-2pm, in person.

Fee: $300

Connect with SJSU students through your own customized virtual career fair. Schedule your fair for three, four or five hours maximum, and bring an unlimited number of representatives to meet students interested in your career and internship opportunities. This event is a great way to recruit students while building your brand on campus. 

Fee: $200 per hour

Promote your organization and career opportunities to students and build your brand on campus by hosting an employer information session or tech talk. Meet and network with prospective SJSU candidates in an intimate setting to share information about your company, culture, and industry. This event is held Tuesday – Thursday from 12:30-2pm and 4:30-6pm.

Fees: Virtual $150 or In Person $300

This new series has become one of our most popular events for students. Featured employers share their insights on common career questions, lessons learned from their own career journey, and key tips to get hired at their organization. Format includes time for Q&A with student participants. This event is held on select Fridays virtually from 12-1pm. Please contact David Poirier (Employer Engagement Specialist) for details. 

Fee: $100

Meet with career-minded members from various professional and diversity-focused student organizations. The Career Center’s Student Organization Partner Program (SOPP) connects recognized student organizations seeking professional development/mentoring, career education, and networking opportunities with employers dedicated to providing equitable and inclusive career pathways. You can review the list of participating student organizations on the SOPP web page. This event is offered twice a year in February and September.

Schedule an On-Campus Event

To schedule an Employer Connection Event, please complete and submit the Employer Event Request Form. Events must be scheduled at least 3 weeks prior to the event date in order to maximize student participation.

Promote an Off-Campus Event

Employers can also promote off-campus events to SJSU students by posting them on Handshake. The Career Center team will review and approve these postings.

If your company is new to recruiting at SJSU, employer events should not be your first and only on-campus engagement. Please contact an employer engagement specialist to discuss your on-campus recruiting strategy.

Cancellation Policy

Due to high demand, cancellations made less than 2 weeks in advance of the event date will not be refunded. Cancellations made at least 2 weeks in advance of the event date will incur a $50 cancellation fee.
