Employer Connection Events
Employer Connection Events provide flexible ways to connect with SJSU students outside of career fairs. Whether you’re introducing your organization, building brand awareness, networking with students, or recruiting for current openings, we offer a variety of event formats to meet your goals.
Event Types
Build Your Brand: Introduce your organization and increase visibility on campus.
Host a customized career fair to connect with SJSU students interested in your internship and career opportunities. Schedule your employer day event for up to four hours and bring an unlimited number of representatives to recruit top talent while building your organization’s brand on campus.
Fee: $225 Per Hour
Promote your organization and career opportunities to SJS students and build your brand on campus by hosting an employer information session or tech talk. Meet and network with prospective candidates in an intimate setting to share information about your company, culture, and industry. This 90-minute event is typically scheduled Tuesday – Thursday from 12:30-2pm or from 4:30-6pm.
Fees: $300 In Person or $150 Virtual
Build brand awareness, increase visibility and connect with SJSU students to promote your organization, share career opportunities, and build meaningful connections in an informal setting. Includes digital marketing, one six foot table and two chairs for up to four hours on select Tuesdays – Thursdays.
Fee: $200 In Person
Network with Students: Connect with students through informal conversations and relationship building.
During this interactive discussion, SJSU students can “Ask a Recruiter” their most pressing job and internship search process questions. Recruiters will also have the opportunity to promote their organizations and available opportunities to students. This 90-minute event is typically scheduled Tuesday – Thursday from 12:30-2pm, virtually or in person.
Fees: $300 In Person or $150 Virtual
Meet SJSU students in an informal setting to discuss your industry, share insights about your organization, and promote current or anticipated opportunities. This event is designed for students to gain valuable industry knowledge, learn about your organization and explore potential opportunities. This 90-minute event is typically scheduled Tuesday – Thursday from 12:30-2pm, virtually or in person.
Fees: $300 In Person or $150 Virtual
One of our most popular events, this series gives featured employers the opportunity to share career insights, discuss their professional journey, and offer tips for job search success. Each session includes an interactive Q&A allowing SJSU students to engage directly with employer representatives. This 60-minute event is typically held virtually on select Fridays from 12-1pm.
Fee: $200 Virtual
Meet with SJSU students one-on-one in an informal setting for 15 to 20 minutes. This is a great opportunity to provide individualized career advice, review resumes, answer company-specific questions, and connect deeply with potential candidates. Employers may schedule office hours for up to four hours using interview rooms.
Fee: $300 In Person
Meet with career-minded members from various professional and diversity-focused student organizations. The Career Center’s Student Organization Partner Program (SOPP) connects recognized student organizations seeking professional development/mentoring, career education, and networking opportunities with employers dedicated to providing equitable and inclusive career pathways. You can review the list of participating student organizations on the SOPP web page. This event is offered twice a year in February and September.

Hands-On Engagement: Provide students with interactive learning experiences while showcasing your organization.
Share a real world problem or create a challenge for students to solve. This event allows SJSU students to apply their knowledge to real industry scenarios while showcasing the transferable skills your organization seeks. This 90-minute event is typically scheduled Tuesday – Thursday from 12:30-2pm, in person.
Fee: $300 In Person
Scheduling Guidelines
- Events are generally offered Tuesday–Thursday.
- Most events are scheduled from 12:30-2pm or from 4:30-6pm.
- Availability varies throughout the academic year. For the greatest student participation, we recommend scheduling events during peak recruiting periods (September–mid-November and February–mid-April).
- Virtual and in-person options are available for select event types.
- Submit your event request at least three weeks in advance. During peak recruiting periods, we encourage requesting earlier to maximize scheduling availability.

- Review the available event types.
- Complete the Employer Event Request Form.
- Submit your request at least three weeks in advance.
- A Career Center staff member will contact you to confirm availability.
Hosting your own event? Promote off-campus recruiting events to SJSU students by posting them in Handshake.
Tips for a Successful Event
- Post your opportunities in Handshake before your event.
- Focus on current roles, career paths, and day-to-day work.
- Encourage conversation rather than lengthy presentations.
- Bring recruiters or employees who enjoy interacting with students.
- Expect students to ask questions and share resumes.
- Consider participating in multiple engagement opportunities to build your campus presence.
Please note that San Jose State University Career Center’s services are limited to organizations that follow the Employer Services & Expectations.
Cancellation & Refund Policy
Due to high demand, cancellations made less than two weeks in advance of the event date will not be refunded. Cancellations made at least two weeks in advance of the event date will incur a $50 cancellation fee.
